Uday is the Founder and MD of ProKaizen solutions limited, a company he formed after hanging up his corporate leadership boots of over 32 years, following his passion for Business Excellence. He is a based in London and is an INSEAD alumnus, a GE certified Master Black Belt and Six Sigma-Lean Master Trainer, TQM certified from JUSE Japan, certified EFQM assessor and certified Scrum Master, specializing in Business Transformation, ESG & Operations across the Globe in a variety of industries viz. BPO, Healthcare, IT services, Telecom Infrastructure & Marine. He successfully led the Deming Prize journey for one of the world’s largest telecom infrastructure companies.
His career began as a marine engineer where he spent a glorious 9 years onboard ships, providing him with a deep understanding of the offshoring and maritime space. Following his maritime stint, he moved to pursue a corporate career and headed call centers at Genpact & GE. Transitioning through a variety of corporate operational and quality responsibilities through his career, he had the opportunity to assume several business excellence roles that allowed for exposure to the Western and Japanese approaches to Continuous Improvement. He holds a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt certification from GE, USA, a Total Quality Management certification from JUSE, Japan, and an EFQM certification in the European context. He appreciates the uniqueness of each of these methodologies, and the beauty with which these can complement each other especially as organizational needs and situations vary. He has since experimented with integrating these with modern solutions like AI/ML, RPA, and advanced data modelling to achieve significant results while he led the Deming Prize journey for his previous organization as Vice President & Head of Business Excellence & ESG.
His global experience of 32 years spans across Europe, where he served as the Europe Simplification Leader for GE, based in Paris, as well as roles in the UK, India, and the MEA region and he continues to contribute pro-bono in the service of Quality.
He has served as the advisor on the Deming Panel for JUSE, Japan. Being a Professional Member of CQI, he also serves as a member of the DemingSIG committee for CQI-UK. Uday is a regular speaker at various industry and academic events on the subject of Quality, TQM and Industry 4.0 and has authored numerous works on the subject including a book on adoption of TQM practices and a recent case study he published for a leading B-school of global repute which is now a part of the MBA curriculum.
